Office of National Security
The Office of National Security (ONS) focuses primarily on providing strategic guidance, support, and coordination on matters of the national security of Somalia. Therefore, the ONS takes a lead role in improving the coordination and integration of security efforts among government ministries and agencies to ensure political control, promote accountability, and build confidence and trust in the security sector.
Mandate of ONS
Secretariat
Serve as the Secretariat for the NSC andSecurity and Justice Sub-committee of the Council of Ministers.
Advisory
Provide national security-related strategic, policy, and technical advisory to the NSC, CoM, and other relevant institutions.
Coordination
Responsible for the overall coordination of National Security matters and institutions at federal and state levels.
Engagement
Handle engagements on national security issues with both local and international actors.
